LKO in Norway and L-KOPIA continues in Kansas
The first week JBV crew on the designated EM50 laser vehicle, Eivind Scharffenberg and Driver Harald Fjeldbu at Skollenborg Station (90 km south of Oslo).

LKO has been in Norway on our annual JBV survey for three weeks. We have a short break due to the 17th of May, the Norwegian National Day. There are big celebrations all over Norway today. LKO started the survey in the Oslo area on April 26th and the week after it was time to survey the scenic Bergen Line with its 150 plus tunnels. LKO will finish the JBV survey on Saturday, May 21st.

LKO’s Per Arne Pettersson went to Southern Sweden for another short Swedish Rail & Road Authority (Trafikverket) survey. The Danish Rail Ballast Survey is delayed and did not start as planned on May 7th. We hope to get a starting date soon from Bane Danmark.

The second week crew, Lars Lundberg of LKO/L-KOPIA and Jannice Oskarsson of JBV. Harald Fjeldbu is behind the camera at Finse Station, the highest point on Bergen Line (lots of snow still).

L-KOPIA’s crew Gary and Joe are still in the state of Kansas on their way west. There are some very busy areas and train traffic is up (good sign). However, that sometimes means less track time for L-KOPIA and other contractors. I think our average mileage per day is slightly down from estimate, but further west it will open up and I think we will be back on schedule soon.
